Adoption saves lives- plain and simple! Millions of cats die needlessly in shelters across the US- by adopting a rescued cat, you are saving a life from an uncertain fate. There are many rescue groups specific to cat breeds if you really want a certain type of cat. Call local shelters, contact local rescue groups and search online. Or better yet, go visit the cats, and you may be surprised who picks you to be his new forever family!
Introducing A New Pet
It is important to take the introduction of your new cat to other family members --other cats, dogs or small children-- slowly to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Keeping your new kitty separate for a period of time will give him time to adjust to the new environment and give your other family members time to sense their new friend.
